Enriched is a program implemented within schools that educates youth on the principals taught in the Colorblind, SPF100, (sic), and UNIVERSAL programs. This program is structured to help youth increase their confidence and self esteem. Using life coaches we will structure group activities where youth can work together towards a common goal. Youth will learn of their personal strengths, the strengths of their peers, and how together they can achieve a goal. The benefit of using a life coach, rather than a therapist, is that the life coach doesn’t single out the youth. The youth don’t feel as if there is something wrong with them. This program concentrates on the positives in each individual.
We find that the quickest negative trait that you can pick out in someone else, is usually something that you have wrong within yourself. When you don’t know to much about a group, your mind categorizes that group based on similarities that you find or suggestions that you have heard. This is where stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination arise from. Stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination don’t arise from a natural hate or dislike for a person but from a lack of knowledge and insecurities within yourself. By raising a youth’s self esteem and confidence in themselves, they are then able to accept others for who they are.
Also, we give speeches at schools on equality, self empowerment, and teamwork. Want us to come speak at your school? Contact us today.
